Our customer is a Swiss franchise owner of tire repair stations. The idea of this project was to create a system for synchronizing staff communication and simplifying business processes. The first phase included an implementation of PWA (progressive web app) for the frontend workforce, who are using their mobile devices to take pictures of all tires of a vehicle and a picture of a license plate which is then automatically recognized into a text representation of a license plate via third-party OCR/ALPR (optical character recognition / automatic license plate recognition) integration. The data and the images are then stored in the system. Then the second phase of this project was to create a system to use the data, where the franchise owner could make offers for repair work which franchisees could accept. A sophisticated security system was built to allow vehicle owners to access the system as anonymous users in the context of their vehicles and take specific actions. Hence, the communication between the franchise owner, repair stations, and end vehicle owners was significantly improved, and the business processes were simplified.
