Device Tracking Solution with Power Apps
The company uses custom-built tracker devices to monitor a fleet of trucks, including their locations and other essential data. As part of the business process, routine tasks such as assembling or disassembling the devices are critical for company operations. To manage such tasks, a company needed a solution that would integrate well with existing data systems built with the Microsoft ecosystem. The solution was supposed to be quickly developed and work well for assembler employees equipped with mobile devices. Naturally, Azure Power Apps solution in the form of Canvas App looked like an optimal solution that allowed quickly transmitting device status details. On the other hand, the data generated by Canvas App was used by operator employees, and for this, a separate solution was implemented – Model-Driven App. All data generated by users is accumulated and stored in Microsoft Dataverse. Our team member worked together with the Microsoft consultant on this assignment and continued solo when the company decided to reduce the team size.
